Rumah Keena: Great Dessert with Affordable Price

I can not resist a dessert, especially the good one. In Surabaya not many place serve a western dessert with affordable price. I am talking about dessert like tiramisu, cheese cake, even the viral Dubai chewy cookies.

Last week I found it at Rumah Keena. Actually, I have already knew this place because it is at my neighborhood. However, so many times I pass it, I never want to visit. Suddenly, I found a review at social media about this place. It looked promising and I saw many cakes. I adore cakes!

Therefore, one Saturday evening, I went to Rumah Keena. It is located at Jl. Srikana No.144 Airlangga Surabaya. Nowadays, many cafes or coffee shops are in residential areas. Moreover, this area is near with Airlangga university and some schools.

I think they want to provide a good place for students. It means the cafe can not give a pricey tag. They decorated a house into a cafe. In front, there was an open kitchen where you can see the process of making the cake. I always like cafe with open kitchen concept.

We came inside and order at cashier table. In front of us there was a cake display. I saw many ready cakes. From some cheese cake variants, matcha cakes, tiramisu, and many more. I can not choose. Everything looked delicious and tempting.

I decided to choose their best seller tiramisu and dubai chewy cookies. For drinks, we ordered latte, lychee tea, signature dark chocolate, and vanilla milkshake.

We chose to sit inside in front of bar. Therefore, I can see barista made our drinks. Overall, I like the design concept. They also provide a study room. A room where we should quiet, so that people can study or work.

However, in that time, the cafe was a little bit crowded. We should choose seat in front of AC, because the weather was really hot.

Not so long, our order was coming. Tiramisu was beautiful yet delicious. It was soft, creamy, with little hint bitter from coffee. It was my first time eating dubai chewy cookies. The cookie was like mochi filled with kunafa pastry and pistachio paste. Crunchy inside, chewy outside. My fingers and mouth were full of chocolate powder which become outermost layer of the cookie. Love it!

The drinks were also good. They used full arabica beans for the latte. We also suitable with that bean.

This place was really underrated in Surabaya. I will come back off course.
