I like to hang out at coffee shop. Enjoying the coffee or just doing nothing. Therefore, I like to try new café or coffee shop around my neighborhood. Luckily, I live near university and at central city. Thus, many coffee shops open nearby, from home café until the big brand.

One of them is Arah Coffee. I found it coincidentally while I pass through the road ahead couple weeks ago. It is my usual route near my son’s school. Although, I have never seen the café before. Turns out, it is a new branch.

Furthermore, I know nothing about Arah coffee. My friend told me it was famous and crowded at Sidoarjo. Then, I found out from the website that Arah coffee had established for 7 years. The first was at Jakarta. Wow, as I called myself coffee lovers and already lived in Jakarta for 10 years, I am clueless.

Is it less famous than Kopi Tuku, Kopi Nako, or Janji Jiwa? I think because I like to have a coffee around my house. Besides, there was no Arah Coffee branch near my house. That’s the best reason I could think about.

Arah coffee has many branches at Jabodetabek area, some at Bandung, Semarang, Malang, Sidoarjo, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. One near my house at Jl. Kertajaya is the newest in Surabaya.

I like their coffee because they use arabica beans. Personally, I suit with arabica. When drinking robusta, my stomach can not bear. I order hot latte with no sugar. I want to know the taste of the coffee. My friend order butterscotch latte. We also order some snack platter.

The coffee was good as I expected. Both price and taste are reasonable. No complain at all. However, I was really disappointed with the snack platter. From the menu I thought it was bigger plate than its coming. It consists of various snacks from French fries, sausage, and nugget. When I see the portion, I think it is too expensive.

The place is not really wide and I came at the busy moment, Saturday afternoon. We order at first floor where many baristas and staffs. The seating area mostly at second floor. There was a semi outdoor area for smoking area. Actually, it is cozy when not really crowded. I think I will be back in quieter times because of the coffee.
