In June and July, my children had a school holiday. They will ask to go out when we were free from job. I understand that it was bored if spend a holiday just at home.

Therefore, last Sunday we went to Kolam Renang Brawijaya at Jl. Kesatriyan, Sawunggaling, Surabaya. It was located at Army camp. That’s why the color of the building was dominated with green and army pattern.

My children always like to play water. I also like to swim. It was an easy activity which all my family love it.

On Sunday, it was opened at 7.30 am. We arrived around that time, so that it was not really crowded. Since everyone must be at that kind of place in a holiday.

We should pay Rp 30.000 for each person. On weekdays only Rp 25.000. It was quite affordable for us.

It was my first time come this swimming pool. The area was quite big. As like other swimming pool, there was a kids pool and adults pool. The kids pool is for kids under 12 age and the depth was about 80 cm.

The adult or expert pool was quite large. The depth were vary from 150 cm until 200 cm. The 150 cm area was full of children and people who had swimming lesson. It was usual in Sunday morning they opened the swimming class.

At the edge of the pool, there were some guards who always alert for visitors who needs help. It was happened when I was at the expert pool. There was a boy teenager who almost drowned. Two guards  immediately threw a lifebuoy at him. They asked the boy to move at 150 cm if can not swim.

There was already an announcement on the wall that if you can not swim, do not swim on expert pool. However, there was always people ignore it. Because the pool is designed for competition, not only for fun. If you swim at hotel or other fun swimming pool, the depth is always from 150-160 cm. There was no guards.

My children love to swim at kids pool. There was a water slide and other game. After a while, there was a live band performance. They sang along from the pool. It was quite fun.

As a mom, I think the best thing is we are allowed to bring food from outside. However, if you want to buy food inside, there was a canteen which sell some food and drinks.

Around 10 pm, we finished to swim and go home. It was a perfect time because it was getting more crowded.  

I think we will come back later. I like the pool and the ambience.
