Part 1: Kuta vs. Kuta

Yes, I am not misspelling. There are two famous beaches in Indonesia with the same name, Kuta. The one is in Bali, another is in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. I think I do not need to explain more about Kuta Bali. It has been famous since 1970’s.
Beside the beautiful view, when talking about Kuta, I can not forget the sad story of the bombing in Legian, Kuta in 2002. We could see the monument of the victims (or known as Ground Zero Monument) in the Legian street. However, I admire Balinese who were tough and did not give up. They built their environment again so quickly. Therefore, more tourists still come after the tragedy.

When I was a child, Kuta was a wonderful beach. Sadly, it was not the same. Yes, it still beautiful, but so many people which made it was not comfortable for me. I prefer the quiet beach.
However, Kuta is like the trademark of Bali beaches. Even now there are many beaches which might be more amazing, people still come at Kuta. It is like you had never been in Bali, until you visit Kuta.
I have visited Kuta for about five times or more. It was never felt the same. At this moment, I came with my old friends. We were Elementary School friends. We stayed in hostel that near Kuta, so we just walked if we wanted to reach the beach.

It was the first time I ate Mc. Donalds in Kuta. The taste of the burger was more delicious than in Java, especially the cheese. Perhaps they used different kind of cheese or it was simply because of the holiday in Kuta. No wonder this branch was famous among some of my friends.

This was the first time I can explore Kuta until night. Usually I just dropped by in the beach and go to other places. This time I walk around.

I also saw the airport. Actually, I never went to Bali by plane, so it was my first time to see Ngurah Rai Airport, even from far. In night, there were so many pubs and resto. Although Kuta was changed a lot, I still like it.
