As far as I know you can first go to Johor bahru from Singapore you can take bus Singapore Johor at Rochor canal road it cost you only SGD 3..40 then the trip will take you half an hour, then from Johor larkin bus terminal you can take any bus to Hatyai Thailand they have the bus every day depart at about 6- 7 PM and it takes around 12 - 14 hours and it cost around MYR 80 - 95 depends on how good you can bargain and the season, from Hatyai there are some train in different class can take you to Bangkok I do not really remember about the schedule but roughly afternoon departure and it also take around 12 - 14 hours and the cost around THB 675 to THB 339 depends on which class. It is long journey though however, if you enjoy the adventure it is recommended you can sight seeing more and gradually see the culture transformation from Malay to Siam culture, well try it

No lah that is preference, I mean some prefer to go by land to have more sight seeing. About Safety it is really something that we can fully control everywhere there are always a risk so we must have the best travel management. Hope it is useful
