Part 4 : Hat Yai

I woke up with a good feeling and full energy. I was ready to explore Chatucak market. Yey, finally we got shopping. After we checked out, we went to Bangkok again by bus. It was easier because we had already knew the day before. However, I was forgot the detail of the bus.
Chatucak was my request destination to my friend. I was really curious about this market. They said it was cheaper if we wanted to shop. However, Chatucak was only opened on weekend, so make sure you match the schedule.
The market was really crowded. There were everything there, from clothes, accessories, food, and many other things. Try to bid the price until you got the best deal. I bought a nice earrings and a unique trouser. Actually I wanted to buy more, but we did not have enough money because the massage was not on our budget. Therefore, I chose things that I will not find in my place.
When we wanted to have a lunch, we were confused, weather it was halal or not. Finally we decided to eat chicken. I just hope it was okey. Later, I found out that there was a halal food corner in the middle of Chatucak. Next time we will find it.

Then, we continued our journey to airport. We would like to go to Hat Yai. From Chatucak we went to Don Mueng by bus again. This time we had already known and we did not have a problem. We will go to Hat Yai because it was near Malaysia. Hat Yai was a small city in the southern Thailand near Malaysian border.
From Hat Yai, we will rode a bus to Kuala Lumpur. We will stayed a night in a bus, so that we did not need to book a hotel. Once again, it was cheaper. The flight from Bangkok to Hat Yai was smooth. We flight with Air Asia. All of our flight was with Air Asia because we had a promo.
Different with Bangkok, Hat Yai was quite and the airport was not really crowded. It was international airport because it was near Phuket and some famous beaches. That was why many international tourists came here.
We arrived in Hat Yai in the afternon. Our bus was in the evening. Therefore, we still have time to go around. From Hat Yai airport, we went to bus office in the city by songthaew (local bus). There was no songthew in the airport area. People in the airport said that we could get songthew outside the airport, but we did not know that it was far to go outside airport area.

Do not forget that we also brought our backpack. We could not afford a taxi becuse our budget was limited. While we walked, we looked around. They said might be there was an empty songthew after they dropped the passanger in airport.
Finally, we found it. Although it was more expensive than songthew in the street, it was okey. I was so tired. The trip was not really far. Perhaps about 20 minutes. Actually, Hat Yai was quite crowded. It was many big buildings when we entered the city. It was a business center in this southern Thailand.
It was quite difficult to find our bus office because there was many of them. The bus not only served Kuala Lumpur, but also Singapore, Penang, Langkawi, Phuket, Ko Samui, etc. The last two destinations was the famous beach in Thailand. Perhaps if I wanted to go those area, I will come back to Hat Yai.

After we found out our bus office, we registered again. We had already bought the ticket online. However, you can buy the ticket there. Because we still had time, we walked around. Not like Bangkok or Pattaya, I can see some Halal restaurant. Perhaps because many Malay Muslim lived here. Therefore, we choosed one of them and buy some lunch. The food was really good.
I saw many backpackers went around. Mostly they bought bus ticket to Phuket, Krabi, or Ko Samui. The minibus was the fastest way to go there. We waited the bus until night. When the bus has come, we sat behind the driver. I prepared to get some sleep. We should catch our first flight in the early morning.
