Reunion Rafting at Bali

Do you want to have a memorable reunion? Try rafting with your old friends. I did it with my Elementary’s friends. It was more special because we did it in Bali. Yey!
One of my Elementary’s friend was a Balinese tour guide. Why we did not use him? Hehehe. We asked him to create some itinerary in Bali and we wanted something new. Since we had already visited Bali for several times. Therefore, he suggested us to try rafting. Great idea!
We stayed in hotel near Kuta, the most famous beach in Bali. Every accomodation and itinerary was controlled by our tour guide friend. Therefore, on the day of our rafting, we just wake up in the morning, sat in the car, sleep, and voila! We arrived at the location. Hahaha.
I did not know our location, but my friend said it was Ayung River, in Gianyar. Actually, it was my second time for rafting. The first time was with Noars on Pekalen River in Probolinggo, East Java. It was quiet extreme, so I hope Ayung will not disappoint me.
Do not forget to bring extra clothes and wearing a sandal which safe for playing in water. I did not have that particular sandal. Luckily they had it, so I bought it. You should also take off your glasses. However, if you afraid you can not see while rafting, you can tight a rope in the end of the frame to make it like a necklace. Then, it will not fall in the river.
Before we started, they gave us some briefing. Rafting was a team work, so it was important to listen the safety standards and the instructions. They gave each of us a life jacket, a helmet, and a paddle.

Then, we should walk to the river. It was quite far, but it was like a warming up before rafting. We were 8 persons, so we were divided into 2 boats. Each boat was lead by an expert crew. He controlled the boat and instructed us what to do.
I felt a little nervous, yet full of excitement. For the first time, I thought it was hard to paddle. My coordination was not really good. Sometimes I confused to distinguish right and left. If the leader said “left”, the persons on left side boat should paddle and vice versa. Imagine if you confused to distinguish it. However, after a while, I got used to it.
Along our journey on the river, the scenery was beautiful. We were surrounded by many trees and rice fields. It made me so calm and relax. We also had a nostalgic conversation and sang along to spark ourselves. Sometimes we mocked each others and try to race another boat.
Then, we took a rest in a wonderful waterfall. We can stand under the waterfall. It felt like nature massage. And of course, we took pictures. After a while, we continued. Our journey was full of laugh, chit-chat, but still focus to control our boat. Exciting!

Finally the journey was ended. We took a bath and had a lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant was so amazing. It located in a hill. While we ate, we can see leveling rice field (local said terasiring). What a perfect way to finish our rafting.
So, instead of making a reunion in a ballroom hotel, try to have fun with rafting together! Mywowtravel.com is your wow travel story.
