When I was a child, I liked to read the Famous Five series by Enid Blyton. One of them was told about a lighthouse. The title was Lima Sekawan Karang Setan (The Famous Five: Go to Demon’s Rock). The five brothers, sisters, their dog, and a monkey lived in an old lighthouse. Then, they had an adventure there.

Since that, I had an imagination to live in a lighthouse too. The book described so well about the details in the lighthouse. I felt like I climbed up the stairs, drank from the rain, and trapped inside the lighthouse.

That was why, I had a dream to go to a lighthouse someday. Finally that dream came true when I had a duty to explore Bangkalan, Madura. I was a culinary magazine writer for about six years ago. When I searched for culinary and tourism destination in Bangkalan, I found out that there was a lighthouse there. Yey!

That lighthouse located in Sembilangan Street, Socah, Bangkalan, Madura. The road lead to the lighthouse was not really good. However, it was not difficult to find because it was near the famous Syaichona Moh. Kholil tomb.

The white lighthouse stood so tall when I saw at the first time. I can not wait to come inside. I wanted to climb until the top a lighthouse.

There was a circular staircase to go up. It was really exhausted to climb up. I thought I needed more exercise. Fortunately, we can see a scenery in each floor through the window while I caught my breath. There was a number in each of the floor. It was 16 floors, so long before I came to the 16th floor.

Sadly, in some wall there was a handwriting from former visitors. It was not a responsible attitude. I hope as a visitor, we also kept the place clean.

Finally, I arrived in the top. There was a door to a place like a “balcony”, so we can see the scenery around the lighthouse. My friend refused to came out to that balcony because he was afraid of height. So, becareful for you who had the same problem.

 From the “balcony” I can saw sea, green field, and the road. It was amazing. I really like to stay here. I enjoyed the wind that blow our clothes and face and ofcourse I took picture J.
