Do not be shy, you won’t look cheap tourist just because you ask the price before you eat. In fact this is a protocol you have to go through when you eat at hawker, street food or any other eating place where you can not find any price list. 

You may think they will charge you cheap as you just eat at street side, oh no please do not judge the book by it’s cover. You can blend with local eat their local food yet still you have to take care of your pocket, do not ever tolerate.

Just ask the price, think before you eat, take it when you think the price is reasonable obviously.

You must enjoy the local food, enjoy the local food seller atmosphere meanwhile you must keep your budget wisely.
